A Lovely Summer Peach Galette

This summer I was determined to use fresh peaches in some kind of delectable dessert. I thought perhaps a cobbler. I can honestly say that I’ve had a good peach cobbler only once. All my other experiences left me with soggy, overcooked peaches. A cobbler crust that was less than desirable. Or a cobbler that was either way too sweet or instead made with the tartest peaches known to mankind.

I found this really simple recipe for this delicious Peach Galette (French for a round or freeform crust or cake) at https://www.foodieinnewyork.com.

I should have searched on the proper technique on pitting a peach cause, some of my peaches didn’t fare well during the process! (Here you go…https://www.finecooking.com/article/how-to-pit-a-peach)

I was inspired to get up at the crack of dawn and give the recipe a try. The house smelled like peach heaven by 7 am. Hubby loves desserts centered around fruit so I made this for him.

He’s opted to wait till he gets home tonight to enjoy.

Bon appetit, everyone!
